What a Cookie Is
A cookie is a small text file that a website places in the visitor's browser and can read on later visits. Local storage is a browser area that is not sent to the server and is read only by the site's own code. This site uses both methods only for the purposes and periods listed below.
The site has no forms, no membership, no advertising network and no embedded social media, so it uses no marketing or profiling cookies. The principles for processing personal data, including the note for EU and UK residents, are in the privacy policy.
Strictly Necessary Storage and the Consent Record
Strictly necessary storage is needed for the site to work safely and correctly and does not require consent. On this site the only strictly necessary record is "ipk_consent", which stores the visitor's answer to the cookie notice. It is kept in the browser's local storage, is not sent to the server, does not identify the visitor and contains only the choice ("accept" or "decline") and its date.
The "ipk_consent" record is kept for six months; when it expires the cookie notice is shown again and the choice is asked afresh. The visitor can delete it at any time by clearing the browser's site data or by the withdrawal route below. WordPress session and security cookies are set only at administrator login and never in a visitor's browser.
Google Analytics 4 Cookies
Google Analytics 4 is used to measure which pages are visited and how often, how long sessions last and whether the WhatsApp link is clicked. The measurement tag loads only after the visitor gives consent in the cookie notice; before consent no Google code runs and no cookie is set. A decline is recorded in the same way as an acceptance, and the site respects it for the same period.
IP anonymisation is on, Google signals and advertising personalisation are off, and the retention period in Google Analytics is 14 months. The data collected contains no name, telephone number or health information and is used only to improve the site. Nothing shared by WhatsApp or e-mail is ever passed to the analytics system.
Important: Closing the cookie notice or leaving it unanswered is not consent. Until consent is given, the site runs with the strictly necessary record only, and every page is displayed in full.

- Records that measure site use anonymously. They are loaded only with explicit consent and stop when consent is withdrawn.
Withdrawing Consent
Consent can be withdrawn at any time, and withdrawing it is as easy as giving it. The "Cookie preferences" link in the page footer reopens the cookie notice; choosing "Decline" updates the "ipk_consent" record to a decline, and the Google Analytics tag stops running from the next page load.
To remove "_ga" cookies that were set earlier, clear the cookies for ibrahimpetekkaya.com in your browser's site data settings; this also deletes the "ipk_consent" record, and the notice is shown again on the next visit. Visitors who wish to block Google Analytics on every website can install Google's browser add-on.
Third-Party Links
The WhatsApp, Google Maps, Instagram, X and source links on the site lead to those services' own pages, which are governed by their own cookie policies; ibrahimpetekkaya.com is not responsible for processing on those pages. No third-party script, social media embed or share button is added to this site, and no third-party cookie is set unless a link is clicked.
