Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral to book an appointment?

No referral is required. A patient or a relative can write to +90 533 398 50 77 on WhatsApp or email drpetekkaya@gmail.com. Patients diagnosed or treated at another centre apply through the same channels. Insurance formalities are explained by the hospital at the consultation.

Can I book an appointment on WhatsApp?

Yes. Messages sent to +90 533 398 50 77 are read during working hours and the appointment date is confirmed through the same channel. Please include your name, age, diagnosis, your current centre and whether you are asking for a first assessment or a second opinion. The line is for written contact only, not for emergencies.

Where does the consultation take place?

Consultations take place at the medical oncology clinic of Egepol Hospital, Güneşli Mah. 507 Sok. No:3, Konak, Izmir, Türkiye. Konak is a central district of Izmir, reached by city bus, metro and tram connections. The location opens through the Google Maps link on this page.

Can I send my reports before travelling?

Yes, and it is the usual route for patients coming from abroad. Pathology reports, imaging reports, blood results, any molecular test report and a medication list can be sent by WhatsApp or email in English or Turkish. Documents are reviewed beforehand, so the appointment is used to discuss the plan.

Is the consultation held in English?

The consultation can be held in English, and correspondence before and after it is handled in English. Reports in another language are easier to review with an English summary attached. Interpreting for other languages is arranged through the hospital when booking.

Why is there no contact form on this site?

The site does not use a contact form. Personal health information such as a diagnosis or a treatment history is deliberately not collected through a web form. Enquiries come by telephone, WhatsApp and email instead, and what is shared is used only for the assessment.

How quickly are messages answered?

WhatsApp and email messages are read during working hours, Türkiye time, and a reply is usually sent within one to two working days. Clinic and tumour board days can make that longer. In an emergency in Türkiye, call 112 or go to the nearest emergency department.

Can the clinic tell me the cost before I arrive?

Fee information is provided by the hospital, after the consultation and according to the individual plan; prices are not published on this site. Invoicing, insurance cover and reimbursement are handled by the hospital administration.

Ask for an Assessment
